Tooth Fairy Pillow!

Bella has had several wiggly teeth for the past few months...she has been too scared to wiggle them out and this week we have been working on one in particular that has been very wiggly. This afternoon we were at the park having a picnic lunch and i looked over at her and her tooth was gone! She had been eating a muffin and had taken too big of a bite and spit everything out - luckily, because the tooth came out also! quick and dirty! :D

I've been meaning to make Bells a tooth fairy pillow FOR-E-VER. I saw a little pillow similar to this one about a year ago eons before she lost any teeth...well, nothing like a little action to get things in motion...here is the result...enjoy the tutorial! I think it took me like 45 minutes to complete due to all the interruptions! have fun!

Start by cutting a pattern

Cut 3 teeth, cut the third in half and sew the zipper onto that one

You could also cut the tooth at an angle to add interest or make a sassy face...my zipper was too small to try that!

Sew all three pieces together with a gap at the top of the tooth, this is where you are going to add your stuffing.

once its stuffed, sew it shut. you may want to go around the whole tooth another time

Unzip the zipper all the way and flip the zipped side over the rest of the tooth

Put your sewing machine away! You're all done with that part!
I played around with different sized buttons for the eyes and added a bow because well, what girl doesnt want like accessories??

 we have a winner!

I added a snarky little tongue also...it works well to hold $ in place!

 And here we are!

I found this cute note on pinterest. it fits perfectly! http://pinterest.com/pin/269582727665531688/

Baby Rocks #2!

Well this is WAY over due but I figured I needed to document this special time in our lives at some point. Meet: Decker Rocks! Soon to be our newest addition to our family. He is due on April 23rd and wouldn't ya know it...its our 7th wedding anniversary, how crazy and fun. So far this pregnancy has been a breeze. If i could be pregnant with boys, I would probably be pregnant all the time. Apart from the fact that I'm SUPER tired all the time, I'm absolutley loving it.
Its amazing how we have been able to distinguish personalities with our kids while in the womb....Bella was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO active and really hasn't stopped since she popped out. She was literally holding her head up and looking around the second the doctor delivered her...stunned silence followed! We are hoping that since this little guy has been so snugly and mellow inside, he will be the same way once he arrives :D
no matter what we are excited to have a new family member and Dan is super excited for his future Heisman winner...no pressure at all. :D

Oh Brother!

Bella and I were playing with her baby doll this morning...here was our convo...

Me: So Bella, do you want a baby brother or sister someday?

Bella: *thinks for a second*...yah Mom, I want a baby brother.

Me: Are you sure you don't want a baby sister?

Bella: No, not a sister, a baby brother!

So I start cracking up and we call Dan and get his voicemail...once she realizes she is leaving a message and cant make her request to daddy for a baby brother she starts balling and runs away to her room screaming:

"DADDY, WHERE ARE MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS???!!!!"

oh my gosh.

For the record, I'm not pregnant.

Not Your Mother's Book Club

BOOK CLUB! Two years ago we tried and failed. This time we are going to try and make it work!

I am really excited to get this going and really excited about the header I created for the blog. I have been trying to find new ways to make blogs awesome and I'm really loving the learning process...I think I may even try to teach myself how to write codes. Kind of pie in the sky right now, but someday I would love to do it.

Anyone interested can check out the blog at: www.notyomamasbookclub.blogspot.com and nominate a book for October. If you cant make it (or don't live close by) and would still like to participate, check out what we are reading and post about it on the blog. The more the merrier! We are meeting for the first time this Friday. Be there or be square.
