One of my favorite things to do is watch HGTV and get design ideas for my future house. Since I currently do not have a house, and we are staying with our in-laws who just moved into a house, I've been able to practice on theirs! It has been so much fun!!!! I am still learning and trying to figure things out on my own, (Who needs directions!) I think I'm doing a great job. My mother-in-law, Elisabetta and I have been working on things together and trying to make her tuscan/country/not so 80's anymore kitchen and it's nearly done. HOPEFULLY it will be done for Thanksgiving. I'll at least have pictures of everything by then. So far we have made sheer pannels and valances for the windows, accessorized, gotten new dishes and silverware and rearranged things. Its really only a facelift since they havent decided what to do for cabinets, counters and flooring so we've been trying to keep everything versitile in case they decide to change things. I'm learning so much! HGTV.com has some great "how-to" videos, you can take quizes to find your style and more and you can check out designer portfolios and even create 3-d designs of the rooms you want to makeover and probably a lot more that I havent even discovered yet. HGTV.com is a great site and I highly recommend it for your next do it yourself project!

oh bella
Wow, the past few days have been....crazy.
Not so good news first:
Last night we had our first visit to urgent care. Bella has had some gastro intestinal problems for like a week and a half and had bloody mucus in her diaper about 3am night before last. So I called her pediatrition in Bakersfield (who later told me to find a dr. in my area and hung up on me) and they told me to take her to the ER. So I'm freaking out, and I dont have a car. My in-laws left work early and took us to urgent care which we couldnt find and had to go to a few buildings before we got there only to find that it was in the first building we went to. GOOD GRIEF. Long story short, she is ok, she had a little tear and she is healing well. However a few minutes ago she had a diaper with a few balls of paper inside. so that could perpetuate the problem. THIS GIRL IS OBSESSED WITH EATING PAPER! and she is really good at sneaking it and either scarfing it down before we can get to her or thowing it behind her back and pretending like she didnt have it in the first place. what a nut! :)
So today we were shopping and I was putting Bella into her stroller and I needed to adjust the safety belt, so as I was doing that Bella was leaning forward looking at something on the ground which she often does and I didnt really think anything of it, I was right in front of her. All of a sudden she fell head first onto the asphalt and I didnt catch her fast enough and she bonked her head. OH MY GOSH! I felt so horrible and I felt like child services was going to pop out of the bushes and take her away from me. She is ok, she has a nice goose egg on the right side of her forehead and it's all red so I'm sure the bruise is going to look really nice. One of many times I'm sure.
Now for the good news!
Bella is amazing. I know everyone thinks their kid is the baby genious of the century but I think mine wins. Lately she has been "talking" a lot. She says Mom and momma and Da-Da all the time and wow and a few other things but a few weeks ago Grandpa got her a little leap frog barn animal thing that you can mix and match front and back ends of the farm animals they make the sounds and it sings..."You put a duck in front, you put a cow behind, put them together and what do you find? A duck cow! That's silly!" Anyway Bella has been making weird sounds all the time which she loves to do while shes crawling around at turbo speed or in the middle of sacrament meeting or sunday school right as everyone is falling asleep.....So the other day when she was playing with the toy after each of the sounds she would do her version. IT WAS SO CUTE!!! THEN, after playing with the cow she said "'ow! 'ow!" right after the toy said cow. I know to everyone else that is crazy boring, but as a stay at home mom that doesnt talk to anyone but her 8 month old all day long, I think it's awesome!
Other good news:
Dan started working at his practice solo today. That's right HIS practice! :) He is doing such a great job, I'm so proud of him. Things are going well so far. Just basic buisness transfer chaos, but really everything has gone surprisingly well and we are really happy that we have made the move up here. Dr. Scheirman (Sherman) has been so nice and so helpful with the transition and just wants to see the practice thrive and make sure it keeps going strong. Dr. S's mentor has been coming up from san fran and talking with Dan and working with him and giving him tips on how to build things up and ideas for competitions for the personal trainers. They are going to have a competition to see what trainer can refer the most patients in to the practice and the prize is a trip to a resort or something cool like that. Isnt that fun? I'm so happy with the way things have started out and super excited for the things to come. good and bad. :)
